What is microblading?
Microblading is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup that consists of hair-like strokes
typically lasting 1-3 years depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done by using a
nonmotorized hand tool with ultra fine needles and each hair is gently etched into the skin, giving an
incredibly natural and realistic look. Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost
eyebrows and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their eyebrows. Pigments used are chosen to
match the natural or desired brow color. Skin tone will also be taken into consideration. This technique
is best for those with normal to dry skin.
What is a powdered/machine brow?
Powder brows are done with a machine to create a soft, penciled in brow look. This technique can be
done on any skin type. If you are someone that likes a makeup look, this method is ideal. Powder brows
generally tend to last longer than microblading, making it perfect for someone that doesn't want to keep
up with the maintenance of microblading.
What is a combination brow?
Combination brows, or hybrid brows, is a mixture of microblading and powder brows. This is best for
those that want the natural look of microblading, but want to build a bit more density to the brows. If
you love the look of microblading but its just a little too natural for your day-to-day makeup look, this is
the best technique for you.
How long does the process take?
For the first brow session, the entire procedure should take about 2.5 hours. During this session, we will
shape and style the client’s brows with their bone structure in mind. After a client approves of the
shape, we then decide on pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin
the procedure.
The client should then follow up with a second visit in 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment. This
session takes about 1.5 hours.
How long until it heals?
Immediately after the procedure, the color will look dark and the skin around the brows might be
slightly red. In the coming days, the eyebrows will become darker and you will notice slight scabbing. Do
not pick at the scabs because it might damage the skin and the outcome of the treated area. After about
14 days, you'll notice the color is very light and might feel like the brows have completely disappeared!
This is common and is due to the tissue healing from the inside out, though the surface of the skin is
healed. True color will reveal itself once healed. The eyebrows will lighten by up to 40% and will take
about 6-8 weeks to completely heal.
Do I need a touch-up session?
Yes! This is the time to perfect the brows. A touch up session after 6-8 weeks is necessary because
everyone heals differently, and the outcome will vary. Mature skin may take 8-10 weeks to completely
heal. Certain areas may not pick up the pigment during the first session and will need to be refilled.
During this session we can also adjust the pigment color, brow thickness, and add more strokes. It is a
good time to make sure you are completely satisfied with your service!
Does it hurt?
The pain level for the procedure is considered minimal if any. We begin with a topical cream, and then
once our first pass is complete, we then apply a second anesthetic to the broken skin. Everyone
responds differently to anesthetic, so the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat
scratches, to not feeling anything.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling
similar to a light sunburn. This typically subsides within an hour or two. You can take Tylenol but not
Aspirin or Ibuprofen AFTER the procedure.
How long will it last?
Since permanent makeup pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the
area will naturally fade over time. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on age and skin type.
Powder brows can last 1-4 years. Skincare routine and tanning also affect retention. Using products with
Retinol, AHA or Glycolic Acid will fade faster, your skin will resurface faster. Each individuals color
retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every
12+ months. Clients can let the area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain, and if it
completely fades, pigment molecules may still remain under the skin.
What are the pre and post care procedures?
In order to achieve the best results, follow the pre and post care instructions...
Prior to your procedure, clients are advised:
Avoid Aspirin/Ibuprofen and any vitamins that may thin your blood for 72 hours. If you are on
prescribed blood thinners please consult with your doctor before discontinuing use.
No caffeine/alcohol or working out 24 hours before the procedure.
No face scrubs or chemical peels at least two weeks prior to the procedure.
No Botox at least one month before the procedure.
No waxing or threading 7 days prior to the procedure.
Feel free to come in with brow makeup on so we can see your every day look you prefer. We will then
work together to create the perfect brows!
After your procedure, clients MUST follow these instructions:
Clean your brows immediately when you get home and then again 2 hours later. Clean them periodically
throughout the day when you notice lymphatic liquid (clear yellowish liquid) building up. To clean, use
an antibacterial soap such as Dial Gold soap with a clean q tip or tissue. Gently wipe in the direction of
the hair growth.
Make sure to apply a light layer of healing balm morning and night to brows for at least 5-7 days.
Do not immerse brow area in water for 7 days. Try washing your face and brows BEFORE you shower to
better control the water pressure and contact.
Do not put makeup on the brow area for a minimum of 10 days. It is an open wound and using makeup
may cause infections or affect the outcome of your brows. You may use face makeup around the brow,
but nothing on the brow for 10 days. If you are between your initial appointment and your touchup, and
want to fill in light spots, please use a powder. Using pencils can cause unnecessary pulling on healing
skin.
Brow area will feel slightly itchy as it heals and will start to lightly scab over. Do not scratch or pick at the
scabs as this can affect the outcome and pigmentation. Typically scabbing is very minimal.
Do not go swimming, tanning or into saunas for at least 10 days.
No face scrubs or chemical peels at least 2 weeks after.

Risks and Complications?
We take precautions for a safe session, starting with our environment. We sanitize everything and use
disposable blades. Should clients follow our pre and post care instructions, risks and complications are
reduced. Though allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, its possible for certain people. We suggest
a pigment patch test for those with high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to:
Topical makeup products
Gold, silver and nickel
Hair dyes
Patch tests should be performed 5-7 days prior.
What if I don't like it?
As with all cosmetic procedures, clients should not make their choices lightly. Never be afraid to ask
your artist questions or concerns you may have. We do our best to shape and style the eyebrows to the
clients satisfaction prior to the procedure, but please understand our faces are never perfectly
symmetrical. Uneven appearance can be fixed during the touch up session as well as pigment
discoloration/correction.

No-shows and unexpected cancelations can cost us precious time and resources. Especially after the
past couple years of unpredictable changes. We respectfully request at least 48 hour notice before
